Loretta Lynns 2020

The motocross track at Loretta Lynns Dude Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee is opened up for only six days each year. Leading up to championship week at Lorettas, there are two levels of qualifying around the country; one in April and June. Only the top 42 riders from each class/division in the country are invited to Tennessee to race for the championship. The track layout has basically remained the same since it started in 1982. It remains closed throughout the year to keep from any rider having a home-field advantage.

Kids from all over the country come to get recognized as the entire motocross industry is in attendance to watch the future competitors of the sport. When it comes to competing at a national level in any sport, you will find parents and athletes going well over above and beyond what would be considered rational. Thats the case with anyone competing at Loretta Lynns. Parents spend hundreds of thousands of dollars just to get here and many of these kids are homeschooled to allow time for practice and training throughout the week.

There are 7 camp grounds on the ranch, along with a country store and many different food trucks. You can ride pit bikes or four wheelers to spectate from different areas of the track. It’s a motocross city on Loretta Lynns ranch for these six days, and I would recommend anyone who enjoys any type of racing to come by and experience the culture.
